Rick Clinard was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC.  He came to saving faith in Christ as a college student at PBC.

His work in education began at Salem Baptist Christian School, where he was a secondary Bible teacher for 17 years.  He was also a baseball, and cross-country coach, and served as the Student Council advisor and campus chaplain for more than a decade.  

He became a professor at PIU in 2018.

In addition to his work in education, he is also on the pastoral staff of Salem Baptist Church, where he has served since 2007 as an associate pastor and Bible teacher.  He has served on various overseas ministry teams, teaching the Bible to students of all ages.  He has also had the privilege of training pastors in Honduras in expository preaching and biblical ecclesiology.

Rick married Jill Bennett in 2001.  Together they have traveled and ministered internationally, served in various church-related ministries.  They have three children: Eli, Ella, and Owen.

Rick loves spending time with his family and friends, reading old books, and biking.  He is also a fan of the local food trucks in Winston-Salem.
