Gerber, Mr. Tim
Masters of Arts, Children’s Ministry, Carolina Evangelical Divinity School, High Point, N.C. (2006)
Bachelor of Arts, Secondary Education, Bob Jones University, Greenville S.C. (1987)
Tim Gerber grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of seven. He also had the privilege of attending a Christian school throughout his educational experience. During his senior year in high school, he rededicated his life to Christ and felt God’s call to attend Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. As a freshman in college, he felt God wanted him to be an attorney and entered the pre-law track.
During the spring of his first year, he felt and accepted God’s call to full-time Christian service. At the time, he had a peace about teaching and coaching in a Christian school, so he changed his major to Education. Following graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, who had also attended BJU and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. He taught for a couple of years in the middle and secondary grades, but didn’t have a peace that God wanted him to work with this age group. In the meantime, he had become heavily involved in the children’s
ministry at his church in a lay role, and in 1994 he accepted a position as Children's Pastor at Triad Baptist Church. That is where God has him ministering to this day, having the opportunity to minister to hundreds of children each week and lead a team of children’s ministry leaders, as well. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve in such an exciting and fulfilling way!
In 2002, God called Mr. Gerber to graduate school to pursue a Master's in Children's Ministry, which he received in 2006. It was a wonderful start to an exciting journey, and he looks forward to "sharing the road" with other young people who have a passion to minister to children, as well!
He and his wife, Kim, live in Kernersville, NC and have three children: Meagan (26) and her husband live in Greensboro, NC; Tyler (22) and Maddie (18). They also had the blessing of their first grandchild this past December, Jackson Ray. Grand parenting has been a true blessing!
